Adam

“Adam,” from “Adam and Eve” by Albrecht Dürer (1507) given by Christina of Sweden to King Philip IV in 1654Adam (Hebrew: אדם 'adam, "man," "mankind," "first man") was the first man and Eve (Hebrew: חוה Chavvah, "life" or "living") was the first woman.
At the time God made Earth and Heaven, before any grasses or shrubs had sprouted from the ground—God hadn't yet sent rain on Earth, nor was there anyone around to work the ground (the whole Earth was watered by underground springs)—God formed Man out of dirt from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. The Man came alive—a living soul! -Genesis 2:5-7 (The Message)
His name, in Hebrew, is אדם (pronounced: ah-dahm) which has a basic meaning of "mankind," a related noun is אדמה (pronounced: ah-dah-mah) which means "earth" or "soil." Adam was father to Cain (Gen. 4:1), Abel (Gen. 4:2), Seth (Gen. 4:25), and other children (Gen. 5:4). He lived to be 930 years old.
